Purpose and Objectives
It is the policy of Company that the CEO and Senior Management has the overall responsibility to ensure that the Obligations and Responsibilities Statements in this policy are issued and followed.
Scope/Coverage
This policy applies to the Fire Safety Advisor of Company; and includes contractors and members of the public.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities of Fire Safety Advisor
- Ensure High Occupancy Emergency Plans have been developed for all relevant workplaces.
- Ensure a Chief Fire Warden, and an adequate number of Fire Wardens have been appointed at relevant workplaces. (i.e. High Occupancy Workplaces)
- Ensure all Chief Wardens and Fire Wardens have received training on their roles and responsibilities and emergency procedures.
- Monitor emergency evacuation drills and provide all wardens and employees feedback on the evacuation process.
- Undertake an annual Fire Audit.
- Ensure a Hazmat Box has been installed at all relevant workplaces and includes the following:
- After-hours contacts details.
- A Hazardous Chemical Register identifying the chemical quantity
- A Pressure Vessel Register identifying the type of pressure vessels
- Relevant SDS
- A site map is identifying the storage location of each chemical, pressure vessels and Emergency Evacuation Point.
