    Site Rules and Amenities

    Site Rules

    The following are our standard site rules that we require the agreement to:

    • Everyone must sign-on and off daily
    • All workers must comply with the WH&S Act & Regulation and Codes of Practice
    • All workers must hold a current White Card
    • PPE as identified in your SWMS shall be worn when performing the task
    • Workers who participate in High-Risk Construction tasks must be trained and assessed by VOC as Competent
    • All workers shall participate in the Toolbox Talks
    • No smoking on site
    • No loud radios on site
    • No pets on site
    • All Site Signage MUST be obeyed
    • No person shall interfere with any safety equipment unless trained & approved to do so
    • Safe Manual Handling Procedures shall be adhered to
    • If working with Asbestos, Chemicals, or Silica the appropriate Awareness Training MUST be completed
    • No worker shall perform Traffic Control Works unless they are the holder of a Traffic controller’s licence
    • Tools and equipment shall be checked daily before use
    • Any worker not “FIT FOR WORK” shall be denied access to site

    Amenities:
    • Amenities shall be used for their intended purpose
    • Lunch shall be undertaken in the designated areas
    • Food scraps shall be placed in sealed bins provided
    • Ensure the area is left clean
    • Where fridges are provided, contents other than condiments shall be removed weekly
    • Workers shall have a drinking water container within 30 metres at any time

    Your Plant

    Operating your own Plant
    • All Plant Operators must produce a current VOC for the machine operated
    • Plant Pre-Starts shall be conducted daily prior to use and at change of shift
    • Plant shall only be used for the purpose intended by the Manufacturer
    • Plant shall have current Service History, SWMS, SOP, Operators Manuals with the machine
    • Dust Suppression shall be used where required
    • Silt barriers shall be used where excess water is used for completion of a task
    • DIAL B 4 U Dig is Mandatory for all excavation exceeding 300 mm
    • Where working in the vicinity of overhead services maintain separation of 3.000 unless an approved spotter is used
    • At end of day plant shall be stored in a designated area that reduces the risk of unauthorised use or interference with the plant
    • When not in use, plant shall be parked to minimise disruption to other work and the machine turned off

    High Risk Construction Activities

    If yes to the above

    • A SWMS is required for all High-Risk Construction activities prior to commencement
    • Appropriate PPE shall be worn as signed or as per SWMS
    • Workers shall be trained in the use of that PPE
    • All work shall be performed as per SWMS
    • The Supervisor shall ensure work is carried out as per SWMS
    • If in doubt STOP, ASK, Risk Assess
    • If work processes change, there is an accident or change in site conditions, or composition of the team the SWMS shall be reviewed
    • If you suspect the presence of Asbestos, STOP and report to your Supervisor

      Site Elements

      Electrical
      • All corded electrical equipment shall have current Test & Tag
      • All power used from the grid shall be passed through a tested RCD
      • No lead shall exceed total length of 25 metres without electrician’s approval
      Are you using Lifting equipment
      • Lifting equipment shall have current Test & Tag
      Are you using Hazardous Chemicals?
      • Hazardous chemicals can be brought onto site only with SDS, Risk Assessment and be recorded as approved in the Hazchem Register
      Are you working at Heights?
      • Work at Heights shall only be performed by trained personnel
      • Only Platform Ladders may be used to perform work
      • A SWMS is required
      • All ladders must be industrial grade, be inspected, on stable ground and secured where necessary
      Permit to Work shall be obtained for:
      • Excavation
      • Plant Use
      • Heights
      • Hot Work
      • Live Electrical Work
      • Confined Space
      • Asbestos Removal - ARCP
      • Demolition work – Demolition plan
      • Use of Hazardous Chemicals
      • Work over Water
      • Work Beside Roads
      Housekeeping
      • Housekeeping is the responsibility of those creating the mess
      • Use designated Waste Areas
      • Where possible Waste shall be recycled
      All accidents & incidents SHALL be reported

      Unacceptable Behaviour

      • Bullying
      • Harassment
      • Sexual Harassment
      • Loud Swearing or Abuse
      • Practical Jokes that may result In Injury
      • Assault
      • Cultural or Religious Discrimination

      BREACH OF THE ABOVE RULES MAY RESULT IN IMMEDIATE BANNING FROM SITE AND OR TERMINATION
